ANAHEIM, CA - Anaheim’s seventh annual free Health Fair will take place on Sunday, June 30, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at a new location – Magnolia High School, located at 2450 West Ball Road in Anaheim. Physicians and medical staff will offer free health screenings and exams to ensure optimal health at every age. Doctors, health care professionals and volunteers all donate their time at this free one-day event. Tour de OC Bike-a-Thon
The annual Tour de OC, a fundraising bike-a-thon for abused and neglected children is set to take off Saturday and Sunday, May 4th and 5th, 2013. The 2013 OC Walk To Remember Memorial Service, 5K Walk and Celebration of Angels will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at The District at Tustin Legacy. The OC Walk to Remember is a nonprofit organization that supports parents who have lost a baby in pregnancy or infancy. The mission of the OC Walk to Remember is to raise money for local organizations that support parents who have experienced miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or infant loss of any kind, as well as be a resource center for parents, doctors, nurses, hospitals, support groups, and anyone in need of support or information. A Night in Bethlehem
Come join River 47 Church as they put on "A Night in Bethlehem." A Night in Bethlehem is a free, family-orientated event that recreates the city of Bethlehem on the night that Jesus was born. The Journey to Bethlehem is a walking journey that allows you to experience what it might have been like on the way to Bethlehem at the time of Christ's birth. At the end of this experience, you can linger for an outdoor Christmas concert spotlighting our school musical groups, alumni performances, and some of our community schools. Though this event has been serving the community for a couple years, last year, the Southern California winds destroyed almost everything that served as a prop or decoration. Fortunately, everything that we have on display this year is new or rebuilt. There will be live animals, beautiful decorations, and delicious snacks. Community Christmas Party
On December 22 Church of the Redeemer will conduct a FREE Community Christmas Party from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. This annual event will feature free lunch, the Christmas story, crafts, and gifts for the first 400 children ages newborn to 14 years of age. This event is open to the entire community. Big Sunday will host its 3rd Annual Holiday Party & Sing-a-long on December 16, 2012, from 3 – 5 p.m. at 6111 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90020. Challenges of Care Giving ~ The Medication Medley: Too Much, Too Little, Too Confusing?
As part of a quarterly series on the challenges of care giving, Kari Buist-Baker, RN, Gerontologist and Founder of Senior Life Management, will address the topic of medications. Her presentation will include an overview of medications for seniors, the effects of aging on medication usage, potential adverse drug effects, and helpful tips for caregivers to protect themselves and to keep medications supplied and organized for their loved one. The presentation will last 1 hour and will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer period. Professional caregivers and family members of any age are invited to attend this free seminar.
43rd Annual Christmas Concerts
"HARK! Now Hear the Angels Sing" Christmas concert, will be offered Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1:30. 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4644 Clark Ave., Long Beach. 18th Annual Drive-Thru Nativity at Mount of Olives Church in Mission Viejo
FREE event reenacts the story of Christ’s birth with 10 live scenes. Visitors simply drive-thru or walk the campus of Mount of Olives Church to view the inspiring scenes. Actors and animals (camels, sheep, goats and chickens) help to bring the story to life. Great family event! To help families in need, a food drive will be conducted to help stock local food pantries (South County Outreach and Southwest Community Center). Tree-lighting Ceremony The night sky of Thousand Oaks will be brighter on Sunday, December 2, when Emmanuel Church, 588 Camino Manzanas, hosts a traditional tree-lighting ceremony for the community on the front lawn at 4:30 p.m. in an effort to reach out to friends and neighbors to spread the joy of the Christmas season. The church's pastors will give a message, and after the tree is lit refreshments will be served. Church members will be on hand to greet neighbors and welcome them to the ceremony. The event is free, and the church encourages everyone to come and bring their friends to this festive evening to gather around the tree singing carols and sipping hot cider while ushering in this wondrous season. GIRLS' NIGHT OUT
Girls' Night Out is a quarterly event designed to provide a well-deserved break for women to have fun, fellowship, encourage one another, and be inspired by Christian speakers. The evening is casual and begins with music, followed by an hour presentation by the featured speaker, and ends with dessert on the church patio. Women come from all over southern California to get their "spiritual boost"! We laugh, we cry, and we larn how we can keep God in our daily lives. Come join us! No reservations necessary.
